After what seems like forever...we have finally fixed the problem with my SD card by doing it the easiest way we could...we just started using a new SD card! I know, I should have done that a long time ago, but I didn't want to lose the pictures that I had on my other one (like 400ish) *sigh*. BUT, to lift my spirits amongst all of the digital tragedy I have decided to not only make a new card that I've been itching to make. It may have just been the allergies but but oh man, have I been seriously itching to get this one done!
Not only do I have an awesome awesome project idea that I will show you in the next couple of weeks, but I made 5 of these spectacular cards to be given away!
I am absolutely in love with how they turned out! I'm not going to lie and say they aren't time consuming because they are, but I believe that they may have the wow factor that makes them worth all of the time and effort. What I am proud of most is finding new and fun ways to use those punches that we all have laying around. EVERY detail on this card was punched out and hand pieced together. Have I mentioned how much in love I am with this card? And what makes it even better? You can change the face of it to match any season or occasion. Just as you may change the decor on your own porch, you can change the decorations on your paper "porch" to create a scene for any occasion. As a matter-of-fact, this is the base for my own Christmas cards that I will be sending out this year!

This "front porch" has a door with it's very own fall decorated, paper pieced wreath, doorknob and paper pieced pumpkin. The door was created using a Spellbinder die and actually opens! The gold vellum creates the appearance of a warm glow inside your "house" and the pumpkin completes the fall package. The sentiment "Happy Thanksgiving" is heat embossed in copper on the inside of the card.
I had so much fun coming up with this card and I hope all of you look forward to making it in the coming weeks!
