I promised you a jewelry tutorial and here it is! Two days later is better than no post amiright? My foolish plan to slowly simplify my life is just going a little slower than I would like. Sadly, I had the jewelry made on Saturday with hopes to get this blog up on Sunday but that just didn't happen. I ended up having a great dinner with my grandparents and family. So, maybe when things don't work out how you plan, maybe they are working out just how they should! That's my deep thought for the day so let's get this party crack-a-lackin!
To say that the last month or so has been crazy has been a serious understatement. I have finally reached a point where I have to make some decisions in the career department and simplify my life. That being said...I'm excited to bring you this week's tutorial because it's a type of craft that I haven't attempted yet. Jewelry making! Well, ok...yarn and seed bead friendship bracelets from childhood don't count.
This week's blog will feature a beginner (obviously) bracelet made from skull beads. I'm excited but I really just hope it turns out to be something I can actually wear! LOL I'm a big girl, and I have problems finding jewelry that actually fits around my wrists so I'm excited to be able to make something that not only fits, but is my own style! So check back this Sunday for the tutorial....or the disaster story. Either way, I promise yo "Exploding"? Yes. It's an album? Yes. I know you're all looking at this paper box and wondering what exploding and album has to do with it. Well, it is just that surprise that moms and grandmas will enjoy when they open your own handmade gift next Sunday!
On the outside, this album looks like any ordinary paper box. But...when you remove the lid; the box explodes open and all the sides fold down to create several flaps for showcasing pictures, drawings, sentiments, or anything else your imagination can dream up! This tutorial show you how to get the basic box and lid done. I will post my finished/decorated box later this week. All you really need now is the instructions for the box, the rest is personalized by you! Mother's Day is a week from today so you still have plenty of time to get this great gift started and finished! Let's get started! |
